Youth congress for the 2024 European elections

We are delighted to invite you to our Youth Congress on the 2024 European elections! It will take place on May 16 in the rooms and the courtyard of our foundation. The keynote speech will be held by Martin Schulz, former President of the European Parliament.

For the first time, young people aged 16 and over in Germany will have the opportunity to cast their vote in the European elections on June 9, 2024. As part of an all-day youth congress, we would like to inform students in particular about the EU elections and exchange views on various euro-political issues.

Programme

The Youth Congress will focus on the following key questions, among others:
How do young people envision the future of Europe? What issues concern them? What concerns of the students can the leading candidates take into account in their political decision-making processes?
The Youth Congress will open with a video message from the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. Afterwards, we look forward to a keynote speech with Q&A by former President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz.

This will be followed by interactive workshops on various euro-political topics in which questions, statements and political demands will be developed with education officers. These will be discussed in a panel discussion with the leading candidates for the European elections of the democratic parties at the end of the congress.

Who is the Youth Congress for?

Students and their accompanying teachers from 10. grade onwards are cordially invited to take part in the free Youth Congress. The Youth Congress starts at 10 a.m. and is expected to end at 4:30 p.m. after the panel discussion with the EU top candidates. Catering will be provided on site.
