A Strong Voice for Feminism and Against Racism – Award Ceremony of the Schwarzkopf Europe Award for Rokhaya Diallo

We are very pleased to invite you to the award ceremony of the Schwarzkopf Europe Prize for Rokhaya Diallo. The event will take place on Friday, December 12th, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe. Following the award ceremony, there will be an English-language panel discussion with Rokhaya Diallo on key topics of her work, including feminism, anti-racist perspectives, human rights, and social change.

Rokhaya Diallo, who grew up in the working-class districts of Paris, is an award-winning journalist, documentary filmmaker, and author. She has published several acclaimed books addressing racism, feminism, and social inclusion, including her most recent work, Dictionnaire amoureux du féminisme (“The Loving Dictionary of Feminism”), as well as Racisme: mode d’emploi (“Racism: A User’s Guide”) and La France, tu l’aimes ou tu la fermes? (“France: Do You Love It or Shut Up?”). Through her media presence, she creates space for marginalized perspectives and combines personal experience with structural critique. She has contributed to French and international media outlets such as Libération, The Washington Post, and The Guardian, and in 2021 was named one of Europe’s most influential personalities by Politico Europe.

For her tireless commitment to fighting racism in French society and beyond, the French journalist Rokhaya Diallo is being awarded the Schwarzkopf Europe Award.

We are delighted to welcome Rokhaya Diallo on Friday, December 12th, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. for the Schwarzkopf Europe Award ceremony at the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe.

Following the ceremony, there will be an English-language panel discussion with Rokhaya Diallo, where we will explore central themes of her work: Must women and minorities speak louder and be bolder? What are the current challenges for human rights, feminism, and anti-racist work in Europe? What might a vision for a more solidaristic future look like? What role do media, culture, and activism play in processes of social transformation?

The evening will conclude with a reception. We look forward to your participation and kindly ask for a binding registration by December 11th, 2025.

The Schwarzkopf Europe Award has been awarded annually since 2003 by a jury of “Young Europeans of the Year” to decision-makers and initiatives from politics or civil society. In 2024, the prize will be awarded for the nineteenth time. Through this prize, the Schwarzkopf Foundation gives the younger generation the opportunity to recognize those who, from their perspective, have made an outstanding contribution to European understanding and European ideals.
