New Security Order? – Current Foreign and Security Policy Challenges for Germany and Europe

We are delighted to invite you to the event “New Security Order? – Current Foreign and Security Policy Challenges for Germany and Europe.” The event will take place on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe.

In September of this year, suspected Russian drones disrupted airports across Europe – a striking example of the growing security challenges facing Germany and Europe. Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the paralysis of the United Nations, and geopolitical tensions with China and the United States are putting Germany’s and Europe’s security strategies to the test.

Against this backdrop, strategic questions are becoming increasingly important: How can Germany’s and Europe’s defense and crisis response capacities be strengthened and sustained? How can reliable partnerships within Europe and across the world be further developed? At the same time, European security actors face the pressing question of how to modernize political structures and technological capacities to meet current and future security demands.

We are very pleased to welcome Roderich Kiesewetter, Member of the German Bundestag (CDU) and Spokesperson for the Committee on Foreign Affairs, on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe. Together with him and our audience, we will discuss which security policy challenges will be particularly relevant for Germany and Europe in the coming years and how they can be addressed at the national, European, and international levels.

The event is part of our new series “Young European Security Talks.” With this series, we aim to engage young people in discussions about current security policy issues – in dialogue with experts and changemakers from politics and civil society.

We look forward to your participation and kindly ask you to register by 3 November 2025.
