Press invitation: 35 years of young Europe. The European Youth Parliament celebrates its anniversary!

Since 1987, the European Youth Parliament has grown into one of the largest youth organisations in Europe and has empowered hundreds of thousands of Europeans as active citizens. On the occasion of its 35th anniversary, we would like to celebrate the voluntary commitment of EYP members who work for the vision of a democratic, peaceful, sustainable and open society.

The war in Ukraine has seriously challenged the values on which the European project has been based since 1945 – peace, prosperity and solidarity. In this environment, the European Youth Parliament (EYP) is needed more than ever.

Since 1987, the network has grown into one of the largest youth organisations in Europe, empowering hundreds of thousands of Europeans as active citizens. Today, the EYP involves around 30,000 young people from more than 40 European countries in its activities every year.

The EYP connects young activists across borders and offers space for political debate, personal development and the exchange of ideas. In this way, the project makes an important contribution to European understanding. All activities are organised by young people for young people.

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary, we would like to pay special tribute to the voluntary commitment of EYP members who work towards the vision of a democratic, peaceful, sustainable and open society. Last but not least, in 2022, the European Year of Youth, the visions of the young generation are the visions of the young generation.

For this occasion, active members, alumni, the international board of the EYP as well as the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe team will come together from 24 – 26 June.
