Travel grants for young adults

Under the title "Visions for Europe", the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe & Deutsche Bahn enable young people to explore Europe through travel grants. The application period ends on May 30, 2022.

The Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe is convinced that all young people should have the opportunity to experience Europe – regardless of their social and regional background, their school background or their financial possibilities. For this reason, the foundation, together with Deutsche Bahn and Interrail, is again awarding travel grants this year. Using Global Interrail Passes, young people from Europe can deal with current political and social issues during their journey.

Especially since the beginning of 2017, the travel grants aim to give young people from rural regions and financially weaker contexts the opportunity to travel. Other important funding groups are young people with migration and refugee histories, trainees and vocational students. All those who do not have the financial means to finance their own trips should be given the chance to explore Europe.

The Travel Grants:

Since the beginning of the foundation’s work in 1971, the Schwarzkopf Foundation has awarded travel scholarships for project trips through Europe.  This gives young people the opportunity to get to know their European neighbours and to meet Europeans. Through the travel grants, our scholarship holders travel the continent independently and deal with current political and social issues, which they record in the form of videos and thus experience political effectiveness. They are the ones who boldly retell Europe, making it more inclusive.

This year’s application period ends on 30 May (23:59 CET). More information, FAQ’s, and the application form can be found here.
