Tomáš Sacher takes over management of the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe

Tomáš Sacher is the new executive director of the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe as of January 1, 2023. Sacher, who previously was president of the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) network in Berlin, succeeds Luisa Seiler, who left the foundation last year at her own request. Under his leadership, the foundation is to be further strengthened as a European organisation and a pluralistic voice of young Europeans.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to work with this very important and special foundation. Together with the team, I will strive to advance the European outlook and networks of the foundation and seek to strengthen young people in their commitment for a Europe of openness, solidarity and democracy,” says Tomáš Sacher commenting on his appointment.

“We are pleased to have won Tomáš Sacher for this position. With his distinctive experience in leading European projects and teams, he will greatly enrich the foundation’s work,” explains André Schmitz-Schwarzkopf, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board.

Sacher was previously Director of the Czech Centre Berlin and President of the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) network. Most recently, he also headed the international cultural programme of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Sacher, who holds a doctoral degree in media and communication studies, is an experienced consultant, organiser and moderator and has worked in a wide range of international projects on EU issues, democracy, education, digitalisation and innovation.
