Young perspectives on Europe: education, participation and geopolitics

In this discussion event with Federica Mogherini, Rector of the College of Europe and former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, young participants can share and debate their perspectives on Europe, especially regarding education, participation and geopolitics.

European Year of Youth, COP 27, Corona, Ukraine war … from an European perspective, 2022 was a year with both high hopes and unprecedented events. What do young people take away from this? What positive and negative impulses do they have for the coming year and beyond? In 2024 the next elections to the European Parliament will take place in the European Union. Last but not least, national elections will also take place in Estonia, Finland, Greece, Spain, Luxembourg, Poland and Slovakia. And Germany just decided to lower the voting age for the European Elections to 16 years, so where do we stand?

Three impulses about young perspectives on European education, participation and geopolitics initiate a conversation with Federica Mogherini, Rector of the College of Europe and former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy from 2014 to 2019. The discussion format with will take place on Tuesday, December 6th, from 5.00 to 6.30 p.m. at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Altes Palais – Room 210, Unter den Linden 9. Please note: The event’s language will be English.
