Personnel change in the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe

The Executive Directors Luisa Seiler and Mandy Buschina are leaving the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe at their own request and in agreement with the Board of the non-profit foundation. Until a suitable successor is found, the Chairman of the Foundation's Board, André Schmitz-Schwarzkopf, is available as a contact person.

The Executive Directors and the Board of the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe have agreed that Luisa Seiler (Executive Director) and Mandy Buschina (Deputy Executive Director) will resign from the management of the Schwarzkopf Foundation. Due to differing views on the future direction of the Foundation, they are leaving the organisation at their own request in order to take over new tasks in the future. Until a successor is found, the Chairman of the Board André Schmitz-Schwarzkopf and the programme leads will be available as contact persons.

Luisa Seiler thanks the team and the youth networks of the Foundation for the cooperation: „It was a great privilege for me to work with the outstanding team and the youth networks of the Foundation. Together we reach 40,000 young people every year from a wide range of backgrounds and from all over Europe. Being able to support them in their commitment to democratic participation and inclusive societies has been a fulfilling task. Now I am looking forward to new challenges but will remain closely connected to this commitment in the future.“

Deputy Executive Director Mandy Buschina adds: „The Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe performs a task that is currently more important than ever: to promote a peaceful, pluralistic and young Europe. After eight years at the foundation, I look with admiration at a foundation with diverse programmes, youth networks all over Europe and with more than 5,000 young volunteers. The future of Europe is in their hands and I look forward to following their important work in the future.“

André Schmitz-Schwarzkopf, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board, thanks the current Executive Directors for their work: „I would like to express my sincere thanks for the great commitment with which Luisa Seiler and Mandy Buschina have led the Foundation. Luisa Seiler also led the Foundation through the challenging time of the pandemic. Under her responsibility, the Foundation developed innovative digital formats and evolved in its organisation. Mandy Buschina accompanied and led the Foundation over the past eight years in various functions and made a significant contribution to the programmatic development of our work. I wish them all the best for their professional future and look forward to staying in touch with them in the context of European civil society.“
