Munira Mohamud is Young European 2024
The Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe awards Munira Mohamud as Young European of 2024. Munira Mohamud, 23, from Austria is an activist and artist. Her academic, artistic, and activist practice addresses racism and social injustices, identity, international relations, and community building from an intersectional perspective. In the last years, she has been active in numerous initiatives and educational projects both in Austria and on European level. With the award, she receives 5000 Euro that can be used for an own project.

Esra Küçük also takes over as Chairwoman of the Board of the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe.
As of October 1, Esra Küçük has taken on the role of Chairperson of the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe. She succeeds André Schmitz-Schwarzkopf, who held this position for over 20 years and will continue as an Honorary Chairman of the board.

Mikuláš Lakatoš is Young European of the Year 2023
The Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe awards Mikuláš Lakatoš as Young European of 2023. Mikuláš Lakatoš, 26, from the Slovak Republic is an activist and public policy maker, advocating for the rights of Roma, LGBTQ+ communities and other marginalised groups. Working in governmental and non-governmental sectors, he focuses on Roma inclusion, and policymaking regarding youth, health, and refugees. For his fight against multi-layered discrimination and inequalities in Slovakia and beyond he receives 5000 Euro.

Yasmine Ouirhrane is Young European of 2019
Yasmine Ouirhrane (23) is the Young European of the Year 2019 for her commitment to women's equality and equal opportunities for migrants in Europe. At the age of 23, she is already a “Women Deliver Young Leader” of the UN, and in 2018 she has Festival of the European Youth Forum in Strasbourg and is involved in projects with young people in the banlieues.

Zuzana Čaputová receives Schwarzkopf Europe Award
For her commitment to a more peaceful, inclusive and solidary Europe, Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová received the “Schwarzkopf Europe Award” yesterday. The awardee was selected by a jury consisting of “Young Europeans of the Year”, another award of the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe. As a guest of honour, German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier attended the award ceremony in Berlin’s Max-Liebermann-Haus.

Tomáš Sacher takes over management of the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe
Tomáš Sacher is the new executive director of the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe as of January 1, 2023. Sacher, who previously was president of the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) network in Berlin, succeeds Luisa Seiler, who left the foundation last year at her own request. Under his leadership, the foundation is to be further strengthened as a European organisation and a pluralistic voice of young Europeans.
